Rauwolfia Canescens Root Extract is extracted from the roots of Rauvolfia verticillata (Lour.) Baill., family Oleaceae, extracted by ethanol reflux, recovered ethanol, concentrated and spray-dried.

Rauwolfia root cylindrical, 15-30cm long, 1-3cm in diameter, often with several branches under the main root. Surface grey-brown or light brown, with irregular longitudinal grooves and ridges, the cork skin is easy to fall off, revealing dark brown skin or skin off to reveal yellow wood. The texture is hard, the cut surface of the cortex is narrow, brown, the wood takes up most of it, light yellow, the annual rings are obvious. Slight gas, bitter taste.
