Alpha arbutin is a white powder. Extracted from the leaves of the bearberry. It is mainly used for the preparation of advanced cosmetics.Alpha-arbutin can be used in cosmetics as a whitening agent.

α-Arbutin can inhibit the production and deposition of melanin, and remove spots and freckles, such as Zihuating. Studies have shown that α-arbutin can inhibit the activity of tyrosinase at a relatively low concentration, and its inhibitory effect on tyrosinase is better than that of β-arbutin.
