L-proline is one of the twenty amino acids that human body synthesize protein. It is colorless to white crystal or crystalline powder at room temperature. It is slightly smelly and sweet. It is soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in ether, butanol and isopropanol, and soluble in inorganic acids. Amino acids are a kind of organic compounds containing amino and carboxyl groups.
