Hesperidin is the food-bound form of hesperitin, a bioflavonoid, and is one of the two molecules which were erronously called 'Vitamin P' in the past due to confusion with Vitamin C, it is found in many citrus products and is most well known for being concentrated in orange peels.
1.Hesperidins has antioxidant, anti inflammatoryand so on.
2.Hesperidins can inhibit following enzymes: Phospholipase A2, lipoxygenase, HMG-CoA reductase and cyclo-oxygenase.
3.Hesperidins improve the health of capillaries by reducing the capillary permeability.
4.Hesperidins are used to reduce hay fever and other allergic conditions by inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells. The possible anticancer activity of hesperidins could be explained y the inhibition of polyamine synthesis.
